![]() ![]() The Emotional Guidance Scale is used to assess where your emotions are now and to always reach for a better feeling thought. In between those strong emotions are a bunch of other commonly felt emotions, such as Contentment, Boredom, Disappointment, and Doubt. In Chapter Twenty-Two of this book, we’re introduced to the Emotional Guidance Scale, a list of commonly felt emotions that range from emotions that we typically associate with being the most positive, such as Joy, Love, and Empowerment, to those we usually deem most negative, such as Depression and Grief. The pessimistic never like to brood alone, as they find solace in the company of others who place limits on themselves.I first learned about the Emotional Guidance Scale when reading Esther and Jerry Hicks’ Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires. In this scenario, those who are lower than you (pessimism) will whisper lies of "why even try" to gain misery with your company. Take the nudge from the Universe as a gift to go higher! These people, who can see your potential, (don't mean to offend your Ego), by saying you could be better. When you find yourself in this position, be on the look out for people that will challenge you to become greater than yourself. By bringing yourself to express anger (and writing out your thoughts in that purge journal) you will discover a relief of pent up energy that is ready and willing to be elevated to a new state (that you may now choose).īoredom (#8 on the scale) is in a pivotal place, right in the middle of the two spirals, meaning that it is a transition phase between either down (pessimism) or up (contentment). Once you practice consistency with specific emotional states, you begin to feel and recognize what "staying on your map" does and doesn't feel like.įor example, when you are in a state of grief or depression (#22 on the emotional ladder), getting angry (#17) might not seem very “enlightened” or “positive” but it is actually a stepping stone from where you started. (This is achieved by working with I AM statements) The four corners of you MAP will either bring awareness to your unconscious emotional creations or begin to map out a new reality created from conscious positive emotions. ![]() The most critical step in building your MAP is to become aware of where you currently are on the ladder and then consciously write thoughts that can bring you just one step higher. Our thoughts affect our emotions. Only by creating with conscious thoughts are we able to climb the emotional ladder. Sometimes, you will have a passionate march like cadence while at other times, you will stop for distractions, take detours for lessons, or fall for deceptions that delude you into short cut or "easier" ways of fulfillment.ĭo what you can, with what knowledge and wisdom you have, from where you are Now. Be patient with yourself and understand that the way to true joy, is to experience and be present during every step of the journey, at whatever pace is necessary for your mission. Especially, if you have just begun practicing feeling these emotional states consciously. You cannot expect to become a master overnight. This emotional guidance ladder offers many different levels to take small or large steps towards emotional-feeling mastery, personal responsibility and freedom.
